About Dragon River Restaurant
You can't get any more authentic when it comes to a traditional Chinese food eatery with Dragon River Restaurant. Just stepping up to this take-out gem reminds you of mainland China. A bold red facade greets you with bold stir-fry scents wafting out the door. Walk inside and discover Dragon River's Szechuan or Cantonese Hakka cuisine.
The moment you walk inside, it's not just another counter service establishment. Casual dining tables are ready to hold Chinese favorites, including beef stew with noodles and chicken fried rice. Start out with a soup which is a traditional way to begin a meal in China. Hot and sour or won ton soups are delectable and get your palate ready for larger entrees later on. Even ask for chopsticks after the soup to try out this unique utensil. You'll feel like a country native with some chopstick practice.
If you're hungry for something between the soup and entree, the appetizers will open your eyes to a brand new world. Deep fried squid and fresh oysters are part of the tasty starters. If you aren't a seafood fan, egg rolls and spareribs are also available to share among friends. Chicken, duck, beef, pork and seafood are the main meats. They mix them up with vegetables, rice and noodles based on your specific menu order. Try sweet and sour pork for those days you want some steamed rice on the side. Treat your whole table to a roast duck cut in half too. Pull apart this delicacy and pair it with fried rice to truly feel the Chinese spirit. The chefs make everything fresh and seasoned to perfection.

We have found the food very good on several visits.Actually never disappointed, though you might find different I suppose.
Large servings, good food
We mostly order salt And pepper squid
A simple dish well prepared. Be sure to get the green sauce with it
Enjoyed the hot and sour soup. Needed to add some spice for our taste but rich broth and lots of good ingredients.
Also enjoyed the beef with gravy
Chow fun. Again a large serving
Ordered a 2nd hot and sour soup to go.
Total price just over $30 for two very full people

There's a dish here that I just can't quit.
I've never actually seen it prepared anywhere else, but it's basically Westlake beef soup with fried wontons floating around in it. Yes, you read that correctly fried wontons.I can't even begin to describe the depth of flavor and texture presented by this combination but it is perfect. On the menu, it's called "Supper wonton soup" presumably it's supposed to be "Super" but who knows. Make sure when you order it though, that you do tell them that you want the soup with the fried wontons, because I've ordered it once before and gotten something completely different and inferior.
